Having known Tanya and Luke through friends for quite a few years, I was so excited when they asked me to photograph their special day, even more so because they have been together for 14 years, and the love they have is undeniable, you just have to see the way they look at each other to know they're just made for each other!
In the week leading up to the wedding, I (as I'm sure Tanya and Luke were as well) was obsessing over the weather report, as with our typical British summers the weather had been so up and down, and with heavy rain forecast for the day I couldn't help feel disappointed for the lovely couple. The one thing you can't control, and even though you try not to let it have an impact on your wedding day, when it comes down to it we would all rather have a dry day wouldn't we?
But the happy couple could not have had better luck when it came to the weather. With Tanya arriving at the church in an open horse drawn carriage, the raindrops started to fall just as she arrived at the church, and as she walked in through the doors the heavens opened up and it absolutely poured. Then, as if by a miracle, just as Tanya and Luke took their first kiss as husband and wife, the clouds parted and the sun rays beamed in through the church windows. It turned out to be a glorious day in all senses of the word!
And here it is, a day filled with true love and happiness!
